Apollonia Archaeological Park & Byllis

Apollonia Archaeological Park & Byllis

Explore ancient ruins with theaters, a colonnaded street, temples, and a monumental fountain, offering a glimpse into Hellenistic and Roman history.

We leave Tirana this morning and visit the Apollonia Archaeological Park, an Ancient Greek trade colony which became an important Roman city. Later we stop at Byllis, a 4th century BC settlement, the largest in southern Illyria. Its amphitheatre is built into the hills and overlooks an Arcadian landscape and the River Vjosa far below. We will travel on to Vlora where we will stay at the 4* Hotel Partner for the night.
