Chapel of the Rosary, Vence

Designed by Matisse, this site features stunning stained glass and murals, with light transforming the interior, offering a unique modern art experience.
The Chapel of the Rosary in Vence was designed by Henri Matisse between 1949 and 1951 and is often regarded as one of his most complete works. Though small in scale, it brings together stained glass, murals, vestments and liturgical furnishings into a unified whole. Light filtered through the coloured windows transforms the interior throughout the day. The chapel offers a moving example of modern art in a sacred setting.
