The Trulli of Alberobello are distinctive limestone dwellings with conical roofs, built using dry-stone techniques without mortar. Their unusual form developed in response to local traditions and practical needs, and the town now offers the most concentrated group of them in Puglia. Recognised by UNESCO, the trulli are valued both for their architectural character and for what they reveal about vernacular building methods. Walking through the district gives a strong sense of local identity and continuity.
