Ponte Vecchio

Ponte Vecchio

Florence's oldest bridge features shops above the Arno, known for jewelry trade and the historic Vasari Corridor, offering a picturesque and iconic experience.
Ponte Vecchio is Florence’s oldest bridge and one of its most distinctive monuments, with shops built along its span above the Arno. Rebuilt in 1345, it has long been associated with trade, first in meat and later in jewellery and precious goods. The Vasari Corridor passing above added a further Medici connection in the 16th century. The bridge remains both picturesque and central to the city’s identity.
