Today is spent around Stresa, the principal town on Lake Maggiore. We visit the Borromean Islands by boat, exploring the palace and terraced gardens on Isola Bella before continuing to Isola Madre, where annuals and more exotic planting flourish around the villa. Lunch is included.

We fly from Heathrow to Milan before continuing to the lakeside town of Como, where we stay at the 4-star Hotel Terminus for the duration of the tour.
